Shared license setup, data selection, plotting and simulation checks for the demos. Defaults are deterministic synthetic prices and no GUI. Synthetic prices demonstrate execution mechanics and are not historical market observations or strategy evidence. Configuration is process-wide, so each command-line demo initializes it once.

Using this example. Centralizes technical-demo setup: initialize(args) selects the license and runtime options before any data or simulation calls. Generated bars are deterministic weekday fixtures shared across symbols, not a realistic multi-asset market. Use the verification helper to inspect NAV output without assuming that orders necessarily filled.

Model and publication. No single original research publication is claimed for this library/example policy.

Implementation in this tutorial. This class prepares licensed data, charting and result checks for the technical lessons. It is infrastructure, not a separate statistical model.

initialize

public static void initialize(String[] args)

Validates options and loads the external license before licensed objects are created. --live selects Yahoo downloads, --charts enables desktop plots, and --quick reduces the dynamic demo's workload. Set -Dnm.license=/path/nm.lic to override license/nm.lic.

Parameters:

args - command-line options passed to the demo
